The
North Gwinnett Cooperative provides food, clothing, financial assistance
and spiritual support to residents of Buford, Suwanee and Sugar Hill, Georgia.
Services
Provided:
(Applicants must qualify to receive assistance.
See below for instructions on how to apply.)
• Bread and bakery goods – Available to each household on
a weekly basis
• Groceries – Available
once every 60 days per household ( for Senior Citizens ( 60+) twice per month )
• Financial assistance is available on a first come, first
serve basis and is available
once per year per household. We do not set up appointments.
• Utilities,
including gas, electric and water. We do not assist with telephone
or cellular phone bills or with deposits or reconnection fees.
• Prescription
medication - Non-narcotic medication
only
• Emergency assistance for other needs may be available under
extreme circumstances.
• Community
Thrift Store – The Co-op operates a community thrift
store that offers children’s and adult clothing, toys, shoes,
bedding, small household and other miscellaneous items. The thrift
store is open to the public and is a
primary source of funds for the Co-op.
To
Qualify for Assistance you must:
• Live
in Buford, Suwanee, or Sugar Hill, GA
• Have
a Georgia state photo ID
• Provide
proof of residency (recent utility bill or rental/mortgage agreement)
• Provide proof of income for every member
of your household that receives income. This includes:
• Wages • Food
Stamps
• Child
support • TANF
• Social
Security • Other
income that you may receive
• Disability
